Emerging as a sensational member of one of the eminent British boy bands, whose music has drawn millions of fans worldwide otherwise known as Directioners, Harry Edward Styles is a key figure in the pop-music industry. Alongside Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and now ex-member Zayn Malik, Styles rose to fame after the fivesome were formed as a group on the stage of The X Factor UK 2010 on July 23.

1. He was in a band named White Eskimo
It seemed as if Harry was raised by music from an early age. Before auditioning for the X Factor, he was the front man of a band which performed at several functions. Hayden Morris, Nick Clough, and Will Sweeney were his school friends with whom he collaborated with for the band. White Eskimo also won a local ‘battle of the bands’ competition.
2. He used to work in a bakery
Harry had a part-time job at W. Mandeville Bakery in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire; the place where he was raised. Harry was born on February 1, 1994, making him the youngest out of all members of One Direction. He has an elder sister named Gemma who is a contributing writer for The Debrief and MTV UK. Born in 1991, Louis Tomlinson is the eldest member.

The fivesome did not have any particular identity for the group until Harry was the one who came up with a name and One Direction was finalized as the band’s name.
6. He was linked to a relationship with an X Factor host
If you had closely followed the seventh series of The X Factor UK, you would have remembered Dermot O’Leary as the presenter of the show. However, Olly Murs co-hosted series 12 of X Factor with Caroline Flack.
Back in 2010, Caroline and Harry dated each other; a relationship that managed to gather enough controversy due to 14 years of an age gap between the two. Flack has briefly stated about her fling with Styles in her autobiography Storm in a C cup.
7. Not every judge gave his performance a thumbs-up
Even though he is a notable singer now, Harry’s first door to success did not show him full approval. He sang Isn’t She Lovely while performing on the X Factor audition which was originally sung by Stevie Wonder. He made his way to the Boot camp round when Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger gave two yesses but Louis Walsh was seemingly not a fan.
8. He once spent £3000 on pizza on his birthday
In 2013, Harry drove around Los Angeles and gave out Domino’s pizza worth three grand to the homeless people on February 1. Talking to 95.5 WPLJ Radio, Ed Sheeran confirmed the news and added, “People write about Harry in a negative way because of his love life but he does stuff like that a lot. He is a pretty genuine guy.”
9. The band members matter a lot to him
Harry has multiple tattoos each of which has a reference to his life. Getting inked with a star tattoo on the left side of his arm basically, points out to five members of One Direction, however, now of course there are four.
10. He was featured in Ed Sheeran’s ‘Drunk’ music video
Harry had a brief appearance in Ed Sheeran’s music video for the single Drunk. Back then, the video was filmed backstage at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London.

Apart from writing songs and singing in One Direction, Styles has managed to drop lines even for other artists as well. 12. He debut for action-thriller Dunkirk
One Direction announced their hiatus in January 2016. Zayn Malik had already declared his departure from the band in March a year before. While he was in France shooting for Dunkirk, his North London house was vandalized by a passerby who used a spray paint to drop a nasty word on the exterior wall.
