6. They’re everywhere!
Orcas are one of the oldest species on the planet. In fact, they’ve been around for approximately 11 million years. You can find orcas pretty much anywhere on Earth, from the Arctic Circle to Antarctica. Depending on what type of Orca, they can live anywhere from shallow coastal waters to the deep waters off the continental shelf. Though you can find them in the open ocean, they seem most abundant near the coast, likely because that’s where their food lives.
